We have been developing BlackLight and other Samvera solutions, including Hyku, since 2016. Our work with universities on research opportunity application platforms goes back even further. In addition to full implementations, we’ve partnered with many clients to assist with specific features or to integrate with their team to facilitate training. We also ofter hosting services and long-term maintenance contracts for academic and library clients.

We stay abreast of trends and concerns among the academic and digital repository communities by interacting with our own clients daily. We strive to contribute code to the open-source Samvera community, including the Bulkrax import/export tool. We stay involved by hosting interest groups, presenting at conferences, and facilitating workshops for users and developers of Hyrax and Hyku solutions.

Adopting an open-source solution is a dedicated investment, and many institutions need help navigating those waters. We’ve also worked with many universities who have the project plan in place, but lack the dedicated resources to complete the work.
